Event 2: DTCN Merdeka Junior (Under-12) Team Chess Championship

- DTCN Merdeka Junior (Under-12) Team Chess Championship
- Also referred to as Dato Tan Chin Nam Foundation Merdeka Junior (U12) Team Chess Championship.

- The event is scheduled for September 12th & 13th, 2025.
- Note: One source lists the date as September 14, 2024, but this contradicts other sources which specify the 2025 festival schedule.

Format
9-round Swiss team system.
Team Composition
A team will consist of 4 players.
Capacity
Due to space constraints, only the first 50 paid teams will be accepted.
Time Control
The time control for each game is 20 minutes + 5 seconds increment to finish.

Prizes
Total Prize Fund: RM 12,000.
- A 5th medal is given as a token to a coach, teacher, or accompanying parent.
- Special team prizes are subject to at least 3 teams playing and achieving a 50% result.
- The Best School will be awarded the IGB JUNIOR CHALLENGE TROPHY.
- School teams must be certified by the school.

Entry Fees & Registration
- Entry Fee: RM 350 per team.
- Closing Date: Registration closes on 1st September 2025 by 12:00 PM.
- Late Entry Surcharge: Entries registered after the closing date will be surcharged RM 100.
- Changes Surcharge: Changes in board order, changes of names, etc., will be surcharged RM 50 per change.
- Registration Requirements: Registration without names will not be accepted.
- Refund Policy: No refunds will be made once registered.
