Tournament Information
- Event Name: SMS DEEN Merdeka Open Rapid Team Chess Championship
- Dates: September 12th & 13th, 2025
- Venue: KL Gateway Mall, Lot L3.01 & 02, 2, Jalan Kerinchi, Kampung Kerinchi, 59200 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan
- Organizer: DAT Chess Centre (DATCC)
- Team Composition: A team will consist of 4 players
- Capacity: Due to space constraints, only the first 50 paid teams will be accepted
- Time Control: 20 minutes + 5 seconds increment per move to finish (Rapid format)
- Format: 9-round Swiss team system
Eligibility & Conditions
- Open to all players
- The average rating of players in a team should not exceed 2250
- Foreign Unrated players are considered as 2000, and Local Unrated players as 1800 for rating calculation purposes
- The sequence of ratings used for calculation is FIDE Rapid Rating, followed by FIDE Standard Rating, then FIDE Blitz Rating (based on the FIDE September 2025 Rating List)
- Players should be registered as per board order upon submission
- Registration without names will not be accepted
- Team Captain/Manager and players agree to abide by the rules and regulations
- Once registered, no refunds will be made

- Open Section: RM 450
Registration Deadlines & Penalties
- Closing date: 1st September 2025 by 12:00 PM
- Registration of entries after this date will be surcharged RM 100
- Changes in board order or names will be surcharged RM 50 per change

Dress Code
All officials and players should be smartly attired in the playing hall

Participants are entitled to only one prize (the larger). Where prizes are of the same value, the Open Section will take precedence over special prizes. All prize winners will get medals & certificates.
